Wishing one of my favorite clients a Happy 1st Birthday! Mr. L stopped by for a cake smash session and to play in the studio. We had no problems at all getting him to dive into that cake! Mr. J & Mr. L stopped by the studio this weekend for a 4 year and 9 mo. shoot. Mr. J was so FULL of energy & Mr. L in spite of teething was a little ham! These two have the most GORGEOUS eyes! They are such a joy and it has been so much fun watching them grow up! I can't believe Mr. J will be celebrating his 4th Birthday!! I won't deny it...I'm not a big wedding person, maybe it comes from having worked in a bridal shop through college. I've seen my fair share of bridzillas. I had sworn off wedding photography as something I would NEVER EVER want to get into, but while out in San Diego I attended a wedding for Chris & Cailtin and played with the camera a bit. If I could guarantee all weddings would be this fun I would throw in the towel on the families, kids & pets, but I honestly fear the bridzillas! So you'll have to settle for this being one of the very very few weddings you will ever see posted by me!

After a beautiful exchange of the vows the couple decided they wanted to take one more plunge to make the day complete and finished the evening in the pool at the hotel! MOST of the guests followed either willingly or well NOT so willingly! LOL! So without any more rambling about what a fun wedding this was and how lucky I was to be in attendance....here are a few shots......(more to follow for the families/friends as Christy has told me she collected your emails!)

My new favorite shot of my husband. We were actually on the island, so I could work for a bit and he was so wonderfully patient and understanding!

This past weekend we had the opportunity to spend the weekend up on Kelleys Island, OH. It's amazing to me that you could travel hours and days and sometimes not beat the view that's in your own backyard that you forget about. I grew up going to the islands and could never get enough of them...there's nothing like the Great Lakes! So I thought I'd share a few of my favorite shots from the weekend...to the beautiful views to our cute B&B...I couldn't seem to put down the camera!

Big Brother J decided to show his new lil' brother just how it was done...what a ham!

Just 8 days old little Mr. L didn't want anything to do with sleepy curly photos...he was already about checking everything out, including those annoying flashing lights of mine! These two little girls are in need of homes for the holidays. They are Dogue de Bordeaux puppies that have had to go through more than any puppy should. Both have had trauma to one of their eyes and as you can see the one little girl had to have hers completely removed...she just got her stitches out! Either or both would make a great addition to your family!!! If you are interested in giving one of these little girls a home I can put you in touch with the rescue that has them for adoption!

Yes, it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...even at my house ;) The tree is up and the lights are on the house. I'm hoping my husband forgets about the huge blow up for the front yard, but otherwise we are all ready for the fat man!

I will be accepting additional orders for prints up till Dec. 13, 2008. After this date I will not guarantee your photos will be in for Christmas. I also have 2 mini sessions still available for next week (Dec. 8-13) for any last minute Christmas photos! These sessions have a reduced sitting fee of $35 and are for a half hour.

My husband is about the flames...the bigger the better...the flaming pumpkins to give you perspective are about 2' tall, so the flames are about that as well. My house has turned into the classic case of the cobbler's kids. I have beautiful captures of other ppl's families or family members, but what do I have to hang in my own home? Nothing recent. Even before I was "in to" photography I would strive to get my husband & I's photos done once a year. Well, this year I was both in front of the camera and behind it. Except for the last one where my husband was waiting for me to set up the camera and I thought he looked too good not to snap a shot of!

This past weekend I had the opportunity to meet Miss T for her Senior Photos. I often strive to capture some images without the big cheesy smiles...but there was nothing cheesy about Miss T's smiles and they were all natural! If anything the smiles and laughs were contagious. It's Soccer Season.....

It's that time of year again...where I find myself perched on the sidelines of soccer matches...usually questioning when the last time a ref had an eye exam. (I know the refs in our house are actually over due for eye exams! I better get that taken care of) Anyway, tonight's match was Northwest High School vs. Canton Central Catholic. Final score 1-0 with the goal being scored by #3, Marks (Way to go girl!). Great game ladies! Thought I'd share a few of my favorites from tonight.

Meet Miss S....

The adorable Miss S came to visit me this morning in the studio. We had originally scheduled a session at the park, but Mother Nature had other ideas....so we spent our time together in the studio. Miss S was a GREAT little model and such a cute lil' girlie girl with the prettiest dresses! Her classic sundresses just put me in that classic black and white mood for her preview.

A few of you knew I was going to start offering these and have waited patiently (Thank you!) till I had the opportunity to get a sample in hand. These new mini boards are 10"x5" and mounted to 1/8" light weight board. PERFECT for a desktop or shelf. These will also be offered at an introductory special of $50 until Nov. 15!! (stand not included, but any regular "plate style" stand works beautifully)

I'm a huge fan of anything that comes ready to put out/up! This one is for my desk.

Operation Love: Reunited is a cause near and dear to me. It's an organization of photographers who volunteer their time and products to our brave military members & their families before, during, and after deployments. Mrs. J's husband is currently serving in Iraq on his fourth deployment. It was my honor to be contacted by Mrs. J to make an album for her husband of photos of her. I had the opportunity to meet up with Mr. C this past weekend to shoot his Senior Photos! We had a really warm day, but finished up rather early still so it wasn't 90 yet! (Doesn't it always seem to hit 90 right when the kids head back to school?) I think we had a good time and got some great shots! As his mom will probably tell you...I will do some crazy things to get JUST the right shot! But I'm really happy with the shots, so laying in the road doesn't seem THAT crazy...I hope!

Every once in awhile I open a photo and it just makes me laugh...you know the kind of laugh that everyone in my house wants to know what the heck I am looking at on the computer. Well, Cincy's doggle (dog goggle) shot was that kind of a shot. He's something of a celebrity in my house as my daughters are probably just as anxious for me to finish his session as his owners. I know this sneak peek is well anticipated! Baby L was a perfect angel! He slept for most of his session and made my job VERY easy. This was a mini session, so just two photos for the peek!

Canal Days

So once a summer our sleepy little town of Canal Fulton hosts Canal Days. A festival with rides, parades and fair food (Yum)! This year I brought the camera out to play for a bit on the last night of the festival, which included yet another fireworks display this July. These are just a few of my favorites.

We had a lot of fun playing in the studio and outside before we pushed just a little too close to nap time...of course that's when I pulled out the sugar and bribed them both for just a few more photos. One Dirty Dog....

I was just discussing with another photographer how one needs to grab the camera when something goes wrong because looking back later you'll be able to laugh!!!

As many of you know it's been raining almost daily here as of late. Well, if you are a dog....it doesn't matter if it's raining...you still need to go out, but if you are Duckie (my Jack Russell Terrier...who should be 90% white) and there is a chipmunk running around in the backyard you might decide to STAY outside. I called her several times to come in before I threw in the towel and let her just stay out there. My husband finally alerted me that she wanted to come in.....Chipmunk hunting in the rain is evidentially a dirty business!

That photo is what I found sitting at my door! ROFL! I don't think she was as amused with the mini session of photos that took place when I found her at the door that way. The best I could do was a side glance from her. She probably knew of the impending bath, which are NOT her favorite!

Especially, for the loyal followers who show up at my cubicle at my 9-5 job to look at the current photos posted on the walls and the friends who stalk my photo sites!

For those new to Heather Marks Photography...Welcome to my passion! Somewhere along this journey someone handed me a camera (actually, it was Christmas of 3rd grade and it was Mr. G) and since then I have been filling photo albums. On my trip to New Orleans, LA to visit relatives after Katrina I purchased my first "real" camera and I was off and running trying to ever improve on my skills. Today, I enjoy capturing images that make clients smile when they receive their order.
